Hamilton Police Seek Homicide Suspect in Ongoing Investigation

Hamilton Police are investigating a homicide after a man died from injuries sustained during an assault in May. The incident occurred at the intersection of Wentworth St. N. and Bristol St., where officers responded to a report of an assault at approximately 11:20 a.m. on May 31.

Upon arrival, police found a man suffering from a serious head injury. He was transported to a local hospital, where he remained until his death on July 30. The victim's family has requested that his name not be released at this time.

The suspect is described as a Black male with a medium build, wearing a white T-shirt, white shorts, and a white bucket-style hat. Anyone with information about the assault or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the police at 905-546-3843 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Peel Regional Police are also investigating a separate stabbing incident in Mississauga. On Saturday, officers attended a commercial unit in the Dixie Rd.-Aimoco Blvd. area and found a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The victim was rushed to a local trauma centre and was listed in stable condition. Police are looking for Gregory Darling, a 34-year-old Brampton man described as Black, 5-foot-11, and with a Caribbean accent. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with red stripes and black shoes.

Cops have warned that Darling should be considered armed and dangerous and have advised members of the public not to approach him. Instead, they should call 911 immediately if seen. Investigators are urging Darling to seek legal counsel and surrender to police.

Peel Regional Police are also investigating a separate incident where a pedestrian was critically injured in Brampton on Saturday night. The incident occurred at the eastbound lanes of Bovaird Dr., east of Hwy. 410, where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at approximately 9:20 p.m.

The pedestrian was taken to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, and the vehicle involved remained at the scene. Anyone with information about this investigation or the whereabouts of Gregory Darling is asked to contact the police at 905-453-2121, ext. 1233.
