Prosecutors have alleged that the mastermind behind a massive COVID-19 relief fraud scheme created fake websites for the Federal Child Nutrition Program and falsely claimed they were serving thousands of children each day.
The scheme, according to prosecutors, involved individuals stealing critical, taxpayer-funded resources from kids in need during a time of crisis.
Eidleh allegedly deposited over $5 million in fraud proceeds, kickbacks, and bribes into accounts associated with shell companies he created to conceal the source of the money.
Prosecutors claim Eidleh used nominee owners to create the fake websites, making it difficult to track the true ownership and control of the sites.
As a result of the investigation, Aimee Bock, the former head of the Feeding Our Future nonprofit, was sentenced to nearly 42 years in prison for her role in the fraud.
The authorities have made it clear that they will do everything in their power to track down and bring to justice those who attempt to hide from the law, no matter where they try to flee.
