Early Impression: Key Features of the Ultrahuman Ring Pro Spark Initial Enthusiasm

The highly anticipated Ultrahuman Ring Pro has finally arrived, and after a few days of use, I'm excited to share my initial impressions. Compared to the previous Ring Air, this upgrade offers several notable improvements, despite a similar overall experience.

The battery life of the Ring Pro is nothing short of impressive, with my test lasting almost three days on a single charge, and the battery only dropping to 78%. This translates to an estimated 13 days of usage, more than double the five to six days I achieved with the Ring Air, and significantly longer than the week offered by the Oura Ring 5. It's worth noting that I had accidentally enabled Turbo Mode, which samples data more frequently and drains the battery faster. The standard Chill Mode offers a more moderate battery draw, while Critical Battery Mode is available for emergency situations.

The smart case accompanying the Ring Pro is a significant upgrade, featuring a range of innovative features. The case emits a distinct sound effect when setting up the ring, accompanied by a haptic buzz. The LED indicator light on the front lip of the case glows or pulses in different colors to signify various notifications. Additionally, the case can play a sound if lost, although I'm still unsure if it's possible to set the morning alarm to play through the case instead of the phone.

The design and build of the Ring Pro are also noteworthy, with a simple yet elegant aesthetic. Unlike the Oura Ring, which features a slim profile, the Ring Pro is a sturdy hunk of metal, with a smooth interior and exterior surface. The ring's thickness is noticeable, but it's a deliberate design choice that adds to its overall durability. Notably, the ring includes two break points that allow it to be easily pried apart in an emergency situation.
