The latest beta of macOS 27 Golden Gate has unveiled the presence of Apple Intelligence in several pre-installed apps, showcasing the operating system's potential for artificial intelligence.
One of these apps, Image Playground, has evolved to create photorealistic images and modify photos. The app can now recolor objects, replace facial features, and even generate images of buildings and landmarks with remarkable accuracy, albeit with a slightly inauthentic quality.
However, Image Playground appears to have a limit on generating images of real people, even if they have been deceased for a long time. This suggests that the app has safeguards in place to prevent the creation of copies of artistic works.
The Notes and Freeform apps have also been updated to include a drawing tool, allowing users to sketch using their trackpad or mouse. While this may not be as effective as using an iPad with a stylus, it's a convenient feature for quick sketches and digital signatures.
In Freeform, boards can now be organized into folders, making it easier to manage and categorize content. The app also adapts to dark mode, with the drawing area turning dark to enhance visibility.
The Weather app has undergone a significant redesign, with individual tiles rearranged to provide a clearer presentation. Two new views have been added to the 10-day forecast, displaying the probability of precipitation and wind distribution throughout the day.
