The affected products are 125g packs with a best before date of up to and including October 31, which were sold at Home Bargains stores. Customers who have purchased these products are advised to return them for a refund.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has stated that the recalled crisps may contain milk and wheat, which pose a health risk to individuals allergic or intolerant to dairy or gluten. Approximately 20 million people in the UK are allergic to dairy, and symptoms can include uncomfortable gas, bloating, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.
Additionally, people with coeliac disease, an autoimmune disorder that sees the body turn on itself and attack the small intestine if exposed to gluten, are warned to avoid the crisps. The FSA has not specified if anyone has been sickened from eating the recalled crisps.
