Trump Claims Britain’s Bankrupt Economy Holds Hidden Gold

Donald Trump criticized the United Kingdom for its reliance on wind energy while overlooking North Sea oil reserves, calling the nation a “loser” for its choices. The comments came during a White House briefing where he reiterated his stance on energy and immigration.

He said he had spoken with Prime Minister Andy Burnham and urged him to open the North Sea for drilling, describing the resource as “gold” that could transform the UK’s fortunes.

Trump blamed immigration and energy policy for Europe’s decline, insisting that unlocking North Sea oil would make the UK wealthy and prevent bankruptcy.

He dismissed wind turbines as a costly alternative, arguing that countries that invest heavily in wind energy lose money and are at a disadvantage.

Burnham responded by indicating a pragmatic approach to North Sea licensing, noting that the Labour manifesto had pledged no new licences but suggested a potential shift.

The new foreign secretary and energy secretary have emphasized that existing licences remain viable, though they have not committed to expanding production beyond current agreements.

Trump also addressed Iran, stating that it has a final opportunity to negotiate a peace agreement, and criticized the regime’s duplicity.

The remarks highlight the U.S. administration’s focus on energy independence, immigration control, and diplomatic pressure in the region.
