Navy Exonerates Blue Angels After Low Pass Incident

The U.S. Navy has concluded a formal flight debrief following a low-altitude flyover performed by the Blue Angels over Pensacola Beach. Acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao confirmed that the maneuver caused no safety issues and stated that no disciplinary actions or firings would result from the incident.

The maneuver occurred during the annual "Breakfast with the Blues" event, which serves as the kickoff for Red, White and Blues Week. The event allows spectators to observe the Navy's flight demonstration squadron practicing over the Gulf Coast prior to official air show performances.

Footage of the low pass captured beachgoers cheering as the jets flew close to the shoreline. While the stunt drew mixed reactions online, ranging from admiration to criticism, military leadership has signaled that the team will continue its scheduled operations.

This year's practice session saw an unprecedented turnout, with large crowds filling local parking lots as early as 7 a.m. Longtime attendees noted that the crowd size was significantly larger than in previous years, suggesting a growing public interest in the demonstration team.

Spectators reported that the proximity of the aircraft during these practice sessions offers a unique experience, allowing them to hear radio communications and witness specialized maneuvers not typically seen during formal shows.

The Blue Angels are scheduled to continue their practice sessions through Thursday before moving into public performances scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
