A founding member of the heavy metal band Slipknot has reportedly been kicked out of the group after nearly three decades. Sid Wilson, who acts as the band's DJ and keyboardist, has been permanently removed, according to sources. Wilson, 49, was one of the original nine members, joining the masked-up musical group in 1998, just before they recorded their self-titled debut album.
The band's line-up has changed plenty over the years, but Wilson's departure comes as a surprise to fans. The publication did not offer a reason for the boot, although guitarist Jim Root seems to have cryptically shared his own message on social media. Root hinted that fans should not believe everything they read and encouraged them to wait for more information.
The reason behind Wilson's departure remains unclear, but it comes at a tumultuous time for the musician. Wilson was recently involved in a highly publicized breakup with his on-and-off girlfriend, Kelly Osbourne. The pair met in 1999 when Slipknot was touring on Ozzyfest and had a son together, Sidney, in 2022. They got engaged in 2025 but have since quietly called it off.
Osbourne seems to have moved on from the breakup, telling a publication that she is focused on being a single mother to her son. She expressed her love for her child and hinted that she may want more kids in the future. Despite the recent breakup, sources remain hopeful that Wilson and Osbourne may still get back together.
