Adam Peaty urges estranged family to improve before reconciliation.

Adam Peaty urges estranged family to improve before reconciliation.

Adam Ramsay‑Peaty, the Olympic swimming champion, has addressed a public family feud, stressing that forgiveness is essential.

The dispute began before his wedding to Holly Ramsay‑Peaty, with several relatives absent from the ceremony.

He said that, as a Christian, forgiveness must be granted, though it takes time and does not mean forgetting.

Reconciliation, he added, would require improved communication and personal growth from all parties involved.

The conflict intensified after the Commonwealth Games, where he earned three medals but missed gold, and he acknowledged that the turmoil had impacted his performance.

Family members urged him to reconcile, arguing that blaming them for his results was unfair and encouraging him to return home to mend ties.

He thanked his wife and his support circle for their encouragement, but did not publicly mention his parents.

At the Games, his parents were absent from the stands, while other relatives gathered to support him despite the estrangement.

His mother issued a statement expressing continued support and love, noting that her family had always given freely without expectation.

Family critics urged him to take responsibility for his actions and not blame them for his performance, noting that the hurt he caused his mother outweighed any disappointment over medals.

Despite the turmoil, Adam secured two bronze medals in the 50m and 100m breaststroke and a silver in the mixed 4x100m medley relay.

He has set his sights on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, saying he must move past his recent personal challenges quickly.
