Secretary of State Marco Rubio offered a candid glimpse into his personal life, expressing a desire to watch college football uninterrupted on a weekend.
Rubio shared his dream weekend in an interview on Fox News, stating that he would love to sit down and watch every college football game from noon Eastern to 2:00 a.m. Eastern time.
When asked if he had a chance to do so, Rubio replied, "I doubt I'll be able to do that anytime soon." The comment was made during a wide-ranging interview that focused on the Trump administration's foreign policy agenda.
Rubio also addressed a viral White House photograph that has become a popular internet meme. In response to the photo, Rubio initially expressed a negative reaction, stating, "I hated that picture." However, he eventually came to accept the memes after they took on a life of their own.
Rubio noted that one of the issues with the original photograph was that he was sitting on a couch without a pillow behind his back, causing him to sink into the seat. He humorously acknowledged the situation, saying, "It's funny."
The White House has even taken notice of the memes, with White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino creating a display featuring the growing collection of images.
Rubio also reflected on how his views have evolved over the years, stating that experience naturally shapes perspective while core principles remain unchanged.
"I'm a different person at 55 than I was at 25," Rubio said. "You go through life, you learn new things, you see things you hadn't seen before. I think at your core, you always remain the same person."
