ArteFino Announces Five Key Findings from Latest Research

ArteFino 2026 marked its tenth anniversary with a theme that celebrated a decade of Filipino craftsmanship. The fair ran until August 2 and expanded its footprint from the traditional Fifth at Rockwell venue to include the Power Plant Mall.

More than a hundred designers participated, each creating a “dekada” collection that reflected on ten years of artistic evolution and community impact.

Casa Selma drew attention with a woven tote that unfolds into a beach mat, earning a nomination for the fair’s Best Product award.

Studio Siriusdan, formerly a soap‑opera writer, showcased oversized hand‑painted pillows and ottomans that incorporated indigenous textiles, highlighting the versatility of traditional fabrics.

Maligaya Clothing Co. turned repurposed doilies and tablecloths into a striking crochet gown, featuring a sweetheart neckline and thigh‑high slit that demonstrated the brand’s commitment to upcycling.

Kael Street continued the upcycling trend with colorful, quirky designs that repurposed old fabrics into contemporary pieces.

A collaboration between Tish, Beatriz, and Zapateria introduced woven details into footwear, with woven thread adorning buckles and heels on mule‑style shoes.

Christian Cera launched leather totes lined with indigenous weaves or hand‑painted Philippine scenes, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern design.

The event highlighted the creativity and sustainability of Philippine artisans, underscoring the role of community‑driven fashion in shaping the industry’s future.
