Two men went missing from their homes in Preston on 24 June. After a 10‑day search, their bodies were found inside a blue Peugeot 106 hidden in undergrowth near the A584.
William Hutchinson, 31, was last seen early Wednesday at an address on Hull Street. He was believed to have left the area in the vehicle. Stuart Tallis, 27, was last seen at 1:30 a.m. in the Fishwick View area and was reported missing on 27 June.
Search teams located the car on 4 July, just after noon, off the westbound carriageway of the A584 near its junction with the A583 at Newton with Clifton. The vehicle had been concealed from view in thick vegetation.
Two deceased men were found inside the hatchback. Formal identification is pending, but officials believe the occupants to be Hutchinson and Tallis.
Hutchinson’s mother expressed deep concern about his disappearance. She has been receiving support from trained officers.
Authorities are appealing for witnesses who saw a blue Peugeot 106 on the A584 before 5:30 a.m. on 24 June. Motorists are also urged to review dash‑cam footage that might capture the vehicle’s movements.
A senior investigator in the collision unit said the goal is to establish the full circumstances that led to the crash and requested any witnesses or footage that could assist the investigation.
