A violent incident erupted at a Weymouth nightclub on 12 October 2024, when a woman was struck by a wine glass, resulting in permanent scarring.
The assailant, 21‑year‑old Jade Hill, targeted the victim after spotting her with a former partner inside the venue.
CCTV footage shows Hill advancing toward the woman, delivering a barrage of insults before hurling a wine glass at her face, sending shards of glass into the air.
The victim’s friend attempted to intervene, grabbing Hill by the hair; Hill then struck the friend with the broken glass she still held.
During the assault, the nightclub DJ called for staff assistance as the situation escalated.
Hill was detained at the scene and subsequently arrested by law enforcement, while both victims were taken to hospital for treatment.
Despite denying the charges, Hill was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and was sentenced to four years and ten months in prison, accompanied by a five‑year restraining order.
The victim described the attack as vile, noting that Hill had never apologized or shown remorse for her actions.
A police officer observed that the assault was unprovoked and praised the rapid response that led to Hill’s arrest.
The case underscores the importance of swift justice in violent nightclub incidents.
