A Canadian woman faces multiple charges following an alleged assault on a teenager in New Jersey. Kaitlyn E. Tracey, 33, is accused of confronting a group on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach on July 3, according to court documents. The incident reportedly occurred after Tracey reportedly confronted two individuals wearing clothing with politically themed messaging before allegedly striking one of the teens.
Surveillance footage captured the alleged altercation, which led to Tracey fleeing the scene. Law enforcement later identified her and issued an arrest warrant. The victim, whose age was not disclosed in the affidavit, suffered no physical injuries. Tracey was taken into custody and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, harassment, and obstruction.
Tracey, a Canadian citizen who entered the U.S. in 2024, resides in Ashbury Park with her husband, Matthew Geroni. In a series of public statements, Geroni shared details of his wife’s detention and sought assistance from supporters. He described being informed by authorities that his wife was transferred to a facility in Newark for immigration-related proceedings, though he did not mention her arrest in the statements.
Geroni, a U.S. citizen, has sought public support through social media platforms, where he regularly posts content critiquing political figures. He established a fundraising account to cover legal costs but later removed it after receiving reports of targeted complaints from political groups. Geroni emphasized his focus on securing his wife’s well-being, stating his goal was “the safety and well-being of my wife” without addressing the allegations against her.
Tracey is scheduled to appear in court on August 4. Authorities have not disclosed further details about potential immigration actions or the outcome of her criminal case. Geroni continues to seek assistance, urging supporters to prioritize factual information over speculation in his public appeals.
