President Trump announced that he intends to strike Iranian energy infrastructure and bridges next week if Tehran does not reach a deal with the United States. He made the statement during a recent interview.
He noted that recent strikes have already hit multiple Iranian sites, including Bushehr, Chah Bahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa and Bandar Abbas. The campaign continues with no indication of a pause.
Trump said he will postpone energy targets until the final phase, but will then hit power plants and bridges with great force. He emphasized that the United States will knock out all Iranian power plants and bridges unless Tehran returns to the negotiating table.
He warned that preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon is the most important term of any deal. The president added that Iran has no choice but to negotiate.
He criticized the previous Obama administration agreement as a worthless paper that facilitated nuclear development, contrasting it with his own approach that he claims blocks any nuclear weapon capability.
