Hunter Biden, the son of the US President, faced a scathing rebuke from the US Oil & Gas Association on Friday after he accused President Trump of making "big oil great again." In a series of tweets, Biden claimed that Chevron and Exxon had made huge profits, citing figures of $12 billion and $14.5 billion respectively.
"Chevron just posted $12 billion in profit. Up 400% in a year. Their biggest quarter ever. Exxon made $14.5 billion. You paid for all of it at the pump," Biden said.
The US Oil & Gas Association responded swiftly, slamming Biden for his previous work in the foreign oil industry and his lack of experience and talent in the field.
Biden was paid over $80,000 per month to sit on the board of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian gas company, despite having zero knowledge in the field. He also made millions of dollars doing business with CEFC China Energy, a CCP-linked Chinese energy conglomerate.
The association pointed out that Biden's lucrative gig at Burisma came while his father, the current President, was responsible for handling Ukraine policy. They also noted that Biden's work with CEFC China Energy earned him and his associates approximately $8 million.
The US Oil & Gas Association issued a statement calling out Biden's lack of talent and experience in the energy sector, saying that his post was "stupid" and that he had earned nearly $20 million working for foreign-owned oil and gas companies.
"And what is surprising to all of us is that after earning nearly $20 million working for foreign owned oil and gas companies when you post stupid things like this it is clear that after 10 years and $20 million dollars," the association said.
In a parting shot, the association wished Biden "good luck on your comeback tour."
