Evolution has agreed to pay £4.75 million to resolve a license review by the UK Gambling Commission, closing an investigation that began in December 2024.
The review examined how the company's casino games became accessible on gambling websites serving British customers without the required UK authorization.
The regulator found that Evolution's games appeared through two operators across six websites offering services to people in Britain without a license.
Evolution stated that those operators circumvented existing restrictions and violated its supply terms, and that the 18-month review found no evidence of wider unauthorized availability of its content in the UK market.
The Gambling Commission opened the review after determining that UK players could reach Evolution games through unlicensed operators.
Evolution said it cooperated immediately, blocked UK access to the identified websites, and noted that roughly 3% of its revenue came from the UK market at the time.
The company said it ended relationships with the two operators as soon as it learned of the potential unauthorized access by British consumers.
Additional compliance measures have been introduced since the review began, including stronger ring-fencing controls designed to make unauthorized access more difficult.
Evolution acknowledged that determined third parties may still attempt to bypass protections but said it will continue investing in compliance systems and support enforcement with regulators.
The settlement removes uncertainty around the review and fully concludes the matter with the UK Gambling Commission.
The company said it remains focused on supporting regulated gambling markets while limiting access through unlicensed operators.
