President Trump Conducts Cabinet Meeting at Camp David

President Trump will convene a cabinet meeting at Camp David today, marking his first gathering there in his second term amid rising tensions with Iran.

The session follows a recent escalation in the Middle East, when Iran launched a surprise attack on U.S. forces. In response, U.S. forces carried out retaliatory strikes on Iranian targets on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Trump had postponed a similar meeting in May because of bad weather. He had previously visited Camp David in June after signing a memorandum aimed at de‑escalating tensions, a framework that ultimately collapsed.

After nearly two weeks of nightly strikes earlier this month, the United States resumed attacks on Iranian targets but paused them to pursue negotiations last Friday.

Following the attempted missile strike on a U.S. base, Trump declared a resolve to respond decisively, stating his intent to counter the aggression.

The cabinet meeting is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Eastern Time.
