A 31‑year‑old man was arrested after a 14‑minute phone call in which he threatened to attack transport police officers.
The man, who had previously been convicted of sexual assault on the Underground, called the First Contact Centre in late May and issued a series of violent threats.
During the call he said he would stab officers, use acid on their faces, and made other sexual threats against women and children.
Police located him two days later in West London, arresting him while he continued to abuse officers as they escorted him to custody.
He admitted to being a criminal but denied being evil, claiming the call was triggered by the release of his custody photograph.
At court he received a six‑month prison sentence for the threats and his prior convictions.
The incident underscores the need for police to protect officers from threats and to enforce the law against violent and sexual offenders.
