The Bureau of Customs (BoC) reported a record-breaking July collection of P95.85 billion, surpassing its target by 4.7%. This marked a significant increase of 12.5% compared to the P85.18 billion collected during the same period last year.
The seven-month collection total reached a record P587.71 billion, exceeding the year-to-date target by 2% and the previous year's total of P543.95 billion by 8%. The strong preliminary results demonstrate the agency's efforts to enhance customs procedures, intensify border protection measures, and implement digital transformation initiatives.
The agency's commitment to supporting the administration's economic and fiscal agenda while facilitating legitimate trade and ensuring efficient service delivery is reinforced by these achievements. The seven-month collections represent 58.1% of the agency's revised P1.011-trillion collection target for the year.
Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno expressed pride in the record-breaking July and seven-month totals, stating that it's a great honor for the agency. He emphasized that the achievements demonstrate the effectiveness of the reforms, modernization efforts, and stronger collaboration with stakeholders.
