Regional offices of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority in the Visayas are seeking larger budget allocations for 2027 to expand scholarship programs, upgrade training facilities, and strengthen technical‑vocational education.
During a House of Representatives hearing, TESDA Region 6 proposed a budget of P618.45 million, while the newly created Negros Island Region requested P615.44 million to operationalize its office and broaden training programs.
TESDA Region 8 sought a P64.75 million Tier 2 budget to modernize training institutions, and Region 7 requested additional funding for community‑based training, scholarship programs, and diploma courses.
The agency’s Director General urged lawmakers to support the budget, arguing that more funding would expand workforce development and improve employability.
