Mississippi law enforcement officials are investigating threats made against individuals involved in the case of Nolan Wells, the 18-year-old teenager who was found dead on Horn Island in Jackson County on July 4th.
The Mississippi Attorney General, Lynn Fitch, urged the public to refrain from making threats against law enforcement officers and prosecutors involved in the investigation. She emphasized the importance of allowing the investigation to proceed without interference.
During a news conference, a representative from the law firm of Ben Crump, who revealed that an area of discoloration was discovered on Wells' head during the autopsy.
The cause and manner of death remain undetermined as the official autopsy has not been completed. The revelation from Crump has sparked more speculation.
Wells' friends returned to the mainland on July 4th without him, but Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter previously stated that Wells likely stayed on the island due to his choice.
It was not until July 5th that Wells' mother discovered her son was missing from one of his friends, who reported it to authorities.
