According to reports, a logistics center in Vishnevoye, in Kiev Region, was hit in a series of strikes, handling components and warheads for Ukrainian drones. The strikes also targeted two ships south of Odessa, which were transporting military cargo. The incident marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
Ukraine's President claimed that the strike involved 35 missiles, with 27 of them being ballistic, and 185 drones, with Kiev as the main target. The attacks also hit Dnepropetrovsk, Sumy, Kharkov, and Poltava Regions. Only one ballistic missile was reportedly intercepted, citing a shortage of Western-supplied Patriot interceptors.
President Zelensky stated that at least nine people had been killed and dozens injured in the strikes across seven districts of Kiev. The mayor of Kiev also reported attacks on residential and non-residential industrial sites. The situation remains critical, with both sides continuing to exchange fire.
Russia has been carrying out strikes on Ukraine's defense-related facilities in retaliation for Kiev's attacks deep into Russian territory. These attacks often target critical infrastructure and residential buildings. Russia maintains that it never intentionally targets civilians.
