Jordan Salinas, a 35-year-old resident of Kimberly, Idaho, spoke publicly about his actions during a deadly shooting at an In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, where he returned fire against the gunman.
The incident on Saturday evening left three people dead and at least five others wounded. Police identified the shooter as 24-year-old Chad Williams, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Salinas, who had spent years training with firearms, described the moment he intervened. He saw the gunman with a rifle pointed at vehicles and immediately engaged, helping drive the suspect away from the scene.
In an on-camera interview, Salinas explained his instinct to act was like a switch flipping on. He described seeing "a sea of people" fleeing the restaurant and said his goal was to help as many people get home safely to their families.
The Twin Falls Police Chief praised Salinas's actions as heroic, stating they prevented further casualties. Salinas was equipped with an FN Five-Seven handgun and took cover behind bushes during the exchange of gunfire.
