President Donald Trump used the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in Washington to launch a pointed attack on Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, speaking from the Waldorf Astoria ballroom.
Trump mocked a viral video in which Omar appeared to say “World War 11,” then delivered a series of personal insults, describing her as “low‑IQ” and “very dishonest.” He added that she and her brother were “thinking about moving together — very much in love.”
The former president repeated that Omar “oughta get the hell out of our country,” asserting she “shouldn’t be here.” He also claimed she had once married her biological brother, joking that she called him “husband number one,” and suggested her net worth far exceeded the $30 million disclosed on a financial statement later revised to under $18,000.
Within hours, Omar responded on X with a three‑sentence statement calling Trump “the idiot who runs our country,” accusing him of lacking courage or evidence, and labeling him as the one who should leave the United States.
The exchange quickly spread across social media, drawing attention to the ongoing feud that dates back to Trump’s earlier “send her back” rally chant and his recent remarks concerning Somalia.
