Vice President JD Vance and second lady Usha Vance welcomed their fourth child on Sunday morning.
The couple announced the birth of a son, Alec Neel Vance, in a statement shared on social media.
They said Usha Vance and the newborn are healthy, and their three older children are delighted to meet their younger brother.
The Vances expressed gratitude to the military medical teams who assisted with the delivery at Walter Reed Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit.
The couple first revealed they were expecting in January, when they said the baby was due in late July.
JD and Usha Vance met at Yale Law School and married in 2014. They are also parents to sons Ewan and Vivek and daughter Mirabel.
Their three older children drew public attention last year when they attended the inauguration ceremony and parade in Washington, D.C.
