The disgraced singer Gary Glitter has been charged with four new sexual offences, dating back to 1978, according to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, was previously jailed for 16 years in 2015 for sexually abusing three schoolgirls between 1975 and 1980.
The new charges include one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13 and three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14.
Glitter, 82, is serving his sentence at HMP Channings Wood in Devon and was recently questioned by police over fresh allegations.
The Metropolitan Police stated that a man in his 80s was interviewed under caution in relation to the offending, and the investigation is ongoing.
The victim is being supported by specialist officers, and the police are urging anyone who has been a victim of non-recent sexual offences to come forward.
Over the past year, the Metropolitan Police has expanded safeguarding teams and rolled out training on victim approach, resulting in charges more than doubling for child sexual exploitation.
