After joining the Chargers three years ago, Nisperos was considered one of the country's most promising talents. However, the injury setback has given her a new perspective, and she has been diligently working towards her recovery. Her recent performance in Akari's win over Choco Mucho over the weekend has shown signs of improvement, contributing significantly with nine points in limited minutes.
Akari's victory over Choco Mucho marked a significant improvement from their previous game, where Nisperos scored only two points. Coach Salak believes that Nisperos' return has been mentally beneficial, and she is working hard to regain her form. "We know it would be gradual, one step and one day at a time, and she's working hard to achieve it," Salak said.
Nisperos will have another chance to test her repaired knee cartilage when the Chargers face the PLDT High Speed Hitters on Saturday in Lanao del Norte. While she has shown promise, Nisperos will need to stay patient and continue working towards her goal of regaining her former glory.
Akari is also waiting for the return of several key players, including Mars Alba, Justine Jazareno, and Fifi Sharma, who are currently serving their Alas Pilipinas duties. The team is hoping that Nisperos and the other returning players will help them achieve a breakthrough PVL crown.
