Data released for July 15‑17 indicated that tomato and cooking oil prices increased month on month, while key items such as calamansi, pork, and well‑milled rice declined.
Tomato prices rose 36.4% from the previous month to P115.26 per kilogram, and they were up 50.5% compared with the same period last year.
Cooking oil prices increased 0.3% month on month to P199.44 per liter, and they were up 9.2% year on year.
Bangus and imported ginger both climbed 0.2% month on month to P238.43 and P157.11 per kilogram, respectively. Bangus prices were up 5.5% year on year, while imported ginger prices fell 7.6% year on year.
Calamansi prices dropped 4.4% month on month to P98.66 per kilogram, the largest decrease among the commodities reported. They were up 9.9% compared with the same period last year.
Fresh bone‑in pork prices fell 1.2% month on month to P306.16 per kilogram, and they were down 9.4% year on year.
Well‑milled rice prices declined 0.8% month on month to P55.69 per kilogram, but they were up 15.5% year on year.
