A reportedly strained relationship between two high-ranking Apple executives has come to light. Mark Tan and John Ternus, who is set to take over as Apple CEO, have had a rocky relationship for years. Tan was said to be in the running for the head of hardware engineering role that ultimately went to Ternus.
The tension between the two executives may have contributed to a recent lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges that a significant number of employees from Ternus's division were poached by another company. The vast majority of employees who left reportedly joined OpenAI.
The lawsuit seeks damages to compensate for the losses caused by the alleged trade secret misappropriation and breach of contract. The plaintiffs are requesting damages sufficient to cover the actual losses incurred.
