The off-season is supposed to be a time for rest and relaxation, but for elite athletes, it's a period of constant motion.
Take Ollie Watkins, for example. The England forward recently found himself in a fancy hotel, but instead of ordering a snack or a drink, he asked for a box of golf balls. And then he proceeded to fire them off his balcony as guests ran for cover.
This was just the latest in a series of chaotic events to hit the hotel that day. Earlier, Ferran Torres had ordered staff to fill the pool with ice cubes, only to fling them at his Spain teammate, Fermín López.
So why can't these athletes just sit back and relax like everyone else? The answer lies in the fact that for elite performers, 'off' never really means off. They don't rest, they rest less.
This is the central idea behind Under Armour's new Sportswear campaign, Rest Less. Featuring Ollie Watkins, Ferran Torres, and Fermín López, the campaign reimagines life in the off-season and shows a side of athletes that people don't always get to see.
'The off-season isn't about sitting still; it's about enjoying yourself and finding different ways to stay active,' says Ollie. 'That's why I enjoyed being part of the Rest Less campaign – a chance to show a different side of me off the pitch and not take things too seriously.'
Ferran adds, 'I really enjoyed shooting Rest Less. It feels different from the usual sports campaign and shows another side of athletes beyond competition.'
Under Armour's latest Sportswear collection is built for people who Rest Less. Featuring performance-inspired pieces designed for life beyond the field of play, the collection incorporates reflective branding, clean graphic detailing, and innovative tech features.
The Heavyweight Metal Logo T-Shirt is a standout piece from the collection. With a bold color-block design, it instantly catches the eye. It's incredibly comfortable to wear, thanks to super-soft cotton-blend fabric and a relaxed fit that gives you plenty of room to move.
Today's athletes shape culture just as much as they shape sport, explains Brian Connell, Under Armour Brand Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. 'Rest Less reflects our belief that performance doesn't stop at the final whistle. By celebrating how our athletes express themselves beyond competition, we're continuing to build a Sportswear offering that sits at the intersection of performance, style, and culture.'
