Massive Fire Engulfs Oil Refinery, Residents Advised to Remain at Distance

A large fire erupted at an oil storage terminal in Milford Haven, Wales, releasing thick black smoke over the surrounding area. The blaze ignited during the dismantling of an empty storage tank, prompting an immediate response from local firefighters.

Residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed in case of dense smoke. Neighbor Donna Hooker reported hearing an alarm and checking on the situation, noting that the smoke was thinning as emergency crews worked to contain the fire.

Police quickly blocked roads in both directions, and emergency services arrived promptly. The site, formerly operated by Puma Energy, has recently been transferred to Impala Terminals, yet locals still refer to the depot as Puma.

The tank was empty and being cut apart when the fire ignited, and investigators are examining whether oil residue may have contributed to the incident. The fire service has not yet determined the cause.

An additional fire occurred in Oxfordshire, affecting roughly 100 acres of farmland in Aston Tirrold. Fourteen fire engines were dispatched to control the blaze, which was reported to be spreading rapidly.
