Talarico Agrees with Protester

A recent town hall meeting in DeSoto, Texas, has raised eyebrows after a Democratic Senate candidate's response to a woman's comments about a murder case.

The woman spoke at length about what she perceived as overpolicing in the Black community, citing Juneteenth events as an example of where police presence is heavy.

She then described her experiences serving in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Afghanistan, stating that she had more trauma living in the US now than she did during her military service.

During her speech, the woman also brought up the case of Karmelo Anthony, who was sentenced to 35 years in prison for murdering a 16-year-old track and football star in a brutal stabbing.

The woman referred to Anthony's conviction as a "fucking tragedy," and the Democratic Senate candidate, James Talarico, nodded in agreement.

Talarico further validated the woman's claims, stating that she had "more trauma" from living in the US than she did during her military service.

He then launched into a five-minute anti-police speech, criticizing law enforcement for shutting down a Juneteenth festival and accusing them of being "weaponized" against Black and Brown communities.

Talarico also attacked ICE, accusing agents of murder and stating that they were a threat to public safety.

The exchange has sparked controversy, with some questioning Talarico's response to the woman's comments about the murder case.

The incident has raised questions about Talarico's views on crime and law enforcement, and whether he is truly committed to public safety.
