White House Advisor Stephen Miller Criticizes Dr. Fauci After Tense

The dramatic Senate hearing featuring Dr. Anthony Fauci came to a close on Wednesday, with the former NIAID director and face of America's COVID response invoking the Fifth Amendment to avoid answering questions about his actions and statements made during the pandemic.

Fauci's decision to plead the Fifth Amendment 111 times sparked a heated response from Senator Rand Paul, who moved to hold him in contempt of Congress.

Stephen Miller, a longtime advisor to former President Trump, quickly took to the airwaves to defend his former boss, saying that Trump was the one who questioned the origins of COVID, the need for widespread testing, and the restrictions placed on Americans during the pandemic.

"Trump was the one who questioned the origins of COVID. President Trump is the one who questioned the need for requiring every single American to be tested over and over and over again!" Miller said, highlighting Trump's opposition to the pandemic response efforts.

Miller also noted that Trump fought to reopen the government during the pandemic, and that the Biden campaign in 2020 spent hundreds of millions of dollars demonizing Trump for his efforts to keep America safe and open.

As the controversy surrounding Fauci continues to unfold, Senator Rand Paul has announced that he will hold a vote to hold the former NIAID director in contempt for refusing to answer questions during the hearing.
