On June 27, a shooting occurred in the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant in Hallandale Beach, Florida, involving an 11‑year‑old girl and her father. The incident took place during a routine day for the family.

They were seated in a vehicle when gunfire struck the car. The father sustained a leg wound, while the daughter suffered a head injury from a bullet.

The father received medical treatment and was released, continuing his recovery at home. The daughter remains hospitalized, stable but with a retained bullet in her head, requiring ongoing specialized care.

Bystanders were present in the parking lot during the exchange. The family had no involvement in the altercation that led to the shooting.

Separately, an 18‑year‑old employee, Ralph N‑Kosi Blue, shot at a runner as he arrived at work. Surveillance footage captured the exchange.

Blue faces charges of aggravated battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held in jail without bond.
