The government's Unified 911 hotline has received a significant number of calls since its launch in 2025, exceeding 12.78 million. This milestone has prompted the government to expand its public awareness campaign to encourage wider use of the emergency hotline.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has partnered with a major conglomerate to display Unified 911 materials nationwide. This move aims to increase public awareness and promote the use of the hotline.
Interior Secretary Jonvic C. Remulla stated that the campaign's main goal is to encourage the public to make use of the emergency hotline. The Bureau of Fire Protection has reported an improvement in response times due to the Unified Platform for Communications and Dispatch, which provides real-time location tracking and data sharing.
As a result of the improved response times, the Bureau of Fire Protection is better equipped to handle emergencies and provide timely assistance to those in need. The government's efforts to promote the Unified 911 hotline are expected to continue, with the goal of further increasing public awareness and usage.
