Law enforcement agencies in Georgia, Alabama and Florida are conducting a coordinated search for a 38‑year‑old woman suspected of murder in the Florida Panhandle. A reward of $11,000 is being offered for information that leads to her apprehension.
Authorities have identified the suspect as Isabelle Rose Johnson, a brunette described as approximately 5‑foot‑3 and 120 pounds, who is believed to use multiple aliases and frequently alter her appearance.
Johnson is accused of killing 43‑year‑old Jason Coulthart on June 25 and burying his remains in a shallow grave near Freeport, Florida. The victim had been missing since May 24 after leaving a condominium complex.
A tip directed investigators to the burial site, where a black Cadillac was found parked over a concrete‑covered grave and a large white zip tie was discovered around the victim’s neck.
Police have not disclosed a definitive motive, though one source suggested the suspect may have acted because the victim was “aggravating and irritating” her. The investigation remains active as authorities examine additional leads.
The suspect is believed to travel between Walton and Okaloosa counties in Florida, southern Alabama, and Habersham County, Georgia, where the current focus of the manhunt is concentrated.
Investigators say Johnson manipulates individuals by presenting sympathetic narratives, such as claims of domestic violence, to obtain transportation, money or other assistance.
The department issued a public statement urging the suspect to surrender, emphasizing that she is considered dangerous and that anyone aiding her will be held accountable.
Several individuals have been charged as accessories after the fact. Bobbi Wagstaff, 31, faces charges of accessory to capital murder and possession of methamphetamine.
Michael Ray White, 74, and Kathleen Morris, 59, were charged with accessory to a capital felony and obstruction for providing shelter, transportation and supplies to the suspect.
Martin and Sandra Leaverton, both 63, were charged with accessory after the fact for retrieving the suspect’s belongings, supplying a cellphone and attempting to arrange refuge outside Florida.
Authorities stress that any person who knowingly assisted the suspect or failed to report her activities will face prosecution.
The investigation continues as law enforcement agencies coordinate across state lines to locate the suspect and bring the case to resolution.
