The BBC has reportedly chosen a new host for its popular spin-off show, It Takes Two. Ellie Taylor, a comedian and former contestant on the main Strictly Come Dancing series, is set to replace Fleur East and Janette Manrara, who were axed from the show.
A source revealed that Ellie was a popular choice with the production team due to her infectious personality and impressive performance as a contestant on Strictly in 2022. The senior production team was keen to get her on It Takes Two, which they felt needed a major revamp to boost its appeal.
It Takes Two has been a staple of the Strictly franchise since its launch in 2004, initially hosted by Claudia Winkleman before she became a co-host of the main series. The show underwent a significant change with the departure of Janette Manrara after five years of hosting.
Janette recently announced that she would be leaving the show, stating that Strictly has changed immensely and she is no longer part of It Takes Two or the main show. She plans to pursue other projects and navigate the changes in the Strictly world.
This year's Strictly will also undergo a dramatic transformation with Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe, and Josh Widdicombe replacing Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman as hosts. The BBC and Ellie Taylor's representatives have been contacted for comment on the new hosting arrangement.
