The Department of Information and Communications Technology and the Land Bank of the Philippines have entered into a memorandum of understanding to develop artificial intelligence‑powered digital tools for micro, small and medium enterprises.
The agreement aims to enhance the creditworthiness of MSMEs by enabling them to identify financing opportunities through the department’s AI technology stack.
It is part of a regional initiative to expand access to affordable AI solutions for businesses across Southeast Asia.
Officials say the new tools will help businesses prepare bankable plans, comply with government requirements, set profitable prices, understand contracts, create marketing content, and locate financing and support programs.
The partnership is positioned as a practical step toward turning an AI vision into tangible benefits that increase productivity and competitiveness for small enterprises.
The AI suite is mobile‑first and designed to address everyday challenges that MSMEs face, according to the department.
In addition to the tools, a forthcoming AI infrastructure master plan is expected to attract roughly thirty billion dollars in investment over the next seven years, covering AI development, digital connectivity, and high‑performance computing.
Officials emphasize the need to accelerate AI adoption by strengthening infrastructure and regulatory frameworks to unlock productivity gains from emerging technologies.
