Jaylin Liu, the brother of Olympic figure skating gold medalist Alysa Liu, has been competing as a female athlete in California high school girls’ sports, amassing a series of victories for Albany High School.
He has dominated every 200‑meter and 400‑meter race entered during the current season, including the Tri‑County Athletic League Finals, earning first place in each event.
Jaylin ranks as the top female runner on his team for those distances and leads the league in the quarter‑mile event.
In 2025 alone, he captured eight first‑place finishes at seasonal meets, secured a silver medal in the 400‑meter at the NCS Bayshore Championship, and won gold in the 200‑meter at the Tri‑County Athletic League Frosh‑Soph Championship.
Beyond track, he has competed in girls’ varsity basketball, earning a silver medal at a championship, and played ultimate frisbee for El Cerrito High School at the national invite, where his performance was described as dominant.
Jaylin was born to surrogates, with a different egg donor than his sister, and his father chose white egg donors for the children.
His father was briefly married to a woman who served as legal guardian for the children but is not biologically related. She was formerly a high‑ranking member of a spiritual movement designated as a cult in China and was married to the founder of that movement for twelve years. She sued him for abuse, with Arthur acting as her lawyer.
Despite his close family ties, Jaylin maintains a low profile and rarely references his sister on social media. He attended the Winter Olympics to watch her perform.
