Toronto Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred during a street festival in Scarborough on July 4.
Around 10:30 p.m., a 17-year-old male victim encountered a group of individuals near Lawrence Avenue East and Birchmount Road. Authorities allege that 10 to 15 suspects approached the teen, engaged him in a physical altercation, brandished a knife, and stabbed him.
The victim and one of the accused were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the victim and two accused individuals are known to each other.
Two youths have been arrested in connection with the incident. Investigators are now requesting public assistance to identify three outstanding suspects.
The first outstanding suspect is described as a 19-year-old man, approximately 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds, with black hair. He was wearing a black Hoodrich vest, blue track pants, black and white shoes, and a white surgical mask.
The second suspect is described as a Black male, about 5-foot-6 and 130 pounds, wearing a black toque, black T-shirt, black pants, black surgical mask, and pink and blue rubber bracelets on his right wrist.
The third suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5-foot-9 and 140 pounds, with black dreadlocks. He was wearing a black hooded sweater, white T-shirt, black Adidas pants with a side stripe, and black and white shoes.
No images have been released of the second and third suspects. Members of the public with information are urged to contact law enforcement.
In a separate case, a 29-year-old Toronto man faces assault charges following an incident on July 3. Officers responded to a call near St. Clair Avenue West and Dufferin Street around 11:20 p.m.
Police allege the suspect and victim argued, after which the suspect assaulted and threatened the victim. The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and the two are known to each other.
Maximiliano Perez Flores turned himself in on July 9 and was charged with assault, assault by choking, and uttering death threats. The investigation remains active.
Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the theft and attempted theft of two boats in Gravenhurst over the weekend. A black 24-foot 2023 Sea Ray valued at roughly $100,000 was reported stolen from Dock E at the Gravenhurst Wharf.
The boat was taken using a stolen trailer, and both were later recovered abandoned on Sedore Road after the trailer reportedly malfunctioned. Public tips indicate the items had been there since early Sunday morning.
A second vessel, a 2023 Dayliner VR5 at Dock D, was tampered with in what police believe was an attempted theft. Investigators are asking residents near Steamship Bay Road and surrounding areas to review surveillance footage from Saturday night into Sunday morning.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to seek information from the public regarding both marine incidents.
