The bodies of two people who were searching for after a long weekend boating collision in Muskoka have been found. Ontario Provincial Police have identified the pair as a 32-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both from Toronto.
According to police, officers responded to a boat crash on Lake Rosseau, near Brackenrig Bay, on Friday at 10:40 p.m. Crews arrived to find a significantly damaged boat on a rock ledge and began searching extensively for the pair at the scene and in the surrounding area.
After an extensive search, police said they eventually found the pair on Saturday afternoon. The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
A homicide investigation is underway in Hamilton after a man died from injuries sustained during an assault in May. Police said officers responded to the Wentworth St. N.-Bristol St. area of an assault on May 31 at about 11:20 a.m.
Officers arrived to find a man suffering from a serious head injury, who was transported to a hospital, where he remained until his death on July 30. The victim's family has requested that his name not be released at this time.
The suspect is described as a Black male with a medium build, wearing a white T-shirt, white shorts, and a white bucket-style hat. Anyone with information about the assault or the identity of the suspect is asked to call police at 905-546-3843 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
A 34-year-old Brampton man is being sought in connection with a stabbing investigation in Mississauga. Peel Regional Police said officers attended a commercial unit at about 1:40 a.m. on Saturday in the Dixie Rd.-Aimoco Blvd. area.
They arrived to find a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds, who was rushed to a local trauma centre and was listed in stable condition. Police are looking for Gregory Darling, who is described as Black, 5-foot-11 and having a Caribbean accent.
Police have warned that Darling should be considered armed and dangerous and advise members of the public not to approach him. Investigators are urging Darling to seek legal counsel and surrender to police. Anyone with information about this investigation or his whereabouts is asked to call police at 905-453-2121, ext. 1233.
A pedestrian was critically injured in Brampton on Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle. Peel Regional Police said they were called at about 9:20 p.m. to the eastbound lanes of Bovaird Dr., east of Hwy. 410.
