Connor Murphy, a 32‑year‑old fitness influencer known for “looksmaxxing” content, died on July 7 in Thailand. Authorities described the incident as an apparent drowning. His death was announced on social media the following day.
Police were called to a high‑end rental home in Samut Prakan province on Tuesday afternoon after a report of a man behaving erratically. A staff member recorded video of Murphy shortly before he entered a nearby lake. The lake measured more than 10 meters (approximately 33 feet) in depth.
Witnesses said Murphy swam for several minutes before he appeared to lose strength. They did not enter the water due to its depth. Divers from a local rescue foundation searched for about 30 minutes and located his body roughly 20 meters from shore.
An initial examination found no visible signs of assault. The body was transferred to a hospital for a post‑mortem examination. Full autopsy and toxicology results are pending.
Murphy and his 22‑year‑old girlfriend, identified only as Bee, were staying at the luxury villa under a three‑month rental agreement. Police observed black and yellow paint splashed on furniture, decorations and appliances. The damage appeared to have occurred overnight while Bee slept in another room.
Bee told investigators she had never seen Murphy use drugs and described his behavior that day as unusual. She reported no prior incidents of violence or substance use. Authorities have not disclosed further details.
