Microsoft Outlook App to Address Common Inbox Issues This Fall

Microsoft Outlook App to Address Common Inbox Issues This Fall

Microsoft is introducing three significant features to its new Outlook app for Windows 10 and 11, making it an attractive option for users who prefer the classic version despite its extended support. One feature addresses the issue of responding to outdated emails in a thread with newer replies, which can lead to confusion and broken conversations.

The first feature will display a warning box when attempting to reply to an older email in a thread with newer replies. This warning will ensure that conversations stay on track and remain intact. The feature is set to begin rolling out to new Outlook users in August, providing users with more confidence in their email responses.

Another feature on the horizon is the ability to use templates for automatic replies. This will enable users to set up email conditions that trigger auto-replies, which can be customized with various templates. This feature is designed to simplify the process of sending consistent replies without repetitive typing.

In addition to these features, Microsoft is also introducing the ability to categorize emails using drag-and-drop functionality. This feature will allow users to create categories in their Favorites and apply them to emails with a simple drag-and-drop action. The feature is expected to roll out to new Outlook users in September, providing a faster and more visual way to organize their inboxes.
