Steve Rodriguez Prado, 38, former president of the Central Little League of Las Vegas, was arrested on July 2 on suspicion of theft and forgery after league officials reported missing funds and unpaid refunds.
Police surveillance of Prado’s residence identified “suspicious activity” spanning from late December 2025 through April 2026, leading investigators to examine the league’s financial records.
Authorities allege Prado diverted more than $64,000 of league money in less than five months, using the funds for payments to the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles, a video‑game platform, and Geico insurance.
Among the expenditures were a $1,351 bill from a Las Toxicas strip club, which included an $800 bottle of Don Julio 1942, a bucket of Modelo beer, and associated gratuities, as well as $1,284 spent at the Bellagio Baccara bar and $258 at Caesars sportsbook.
Additional transactions included a purchase of erectile‑dysfunction medication for $294, more than 70 rideshare and food‑delivery charges, electric‑vehicle charging fees, and a Spirit Airlines ticket.
The cumulative amount billed to the league totals $64,351.24, leaving the organization with only $25 in its bank account and threatening the remainder of the season; local groups stepped in to provide emergency assistance.
Prado’s background includes a 2012 robbery conviction in Riverside County, California, raising questions about the league’s vetting process despite mandatory background checks for volunteers.
He faces one count of theft between $25,000 and $100,000, two counts of forgery, and a charge for failing to register as a convicted person with law enforcement; his next court appearance is scheduled for July 30 in Las Vegas Justice Court.
