Pete Hegseth Proposes Mandatory Annual Military Testosterone

The Department of War has taken a significant step in prioritizing the health and well-being of its service members with the introduction of a new screening program for testosterone deficiency.

Under the new policy, all active-duty U.S. servicemembers aged 30 and older will undergo mandatory annual screenings as part of their periodic health assessments. Those under 30 can opt in voluntarily.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth emphasized the importance of maintaining the individual warfighter's physical and mental limits in a video announcing the policy, stating that the U.S. invests heavily in its military hardware but its greatest advantage lies in the individual warfighter.

Hegseth noted that while testosterone levels often naturally drop with age, the new screening program will ensure that service members have the right testosterone levels to operate at their absolute best. If low testosterone is detected, treatment is entirely voluntary, with no mandates or coercion.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to restore what Hegseth has called the "warrior ethos" throughout the U.S. military, rather than prioritizing diversity initiatives and social engineering. This approach aligns with the Trump administration's focus on rebuilding combat readiness, strengthening recruiting, and ensuring America's troops are prepared for the demands of modern warfare.
