FBI Investigation into Seth Rich Death Marred by Allegations of Document Secrecy and Potential Evidence Tampering at Headquarters.

FBI Investigation into Seth Rich Death Marred by Allegations of Document Secrecy and Potential Evidence Tampering at Headquarters.

The investigation into the death of Seth Rich has taken a dramatic turn, with new developments emerging from the FBI.

Attorney Ty Clevenger, who has been at the forefront of the case, revealed that a government attorney informed him that several hundred pages of documents related to Seth Rich have been found in a previously-hidden room at FBI headquarters.

The discovery was made in a sealed area within the J. Edgar Hoover Building's SCIF, which was previously unknown to the public.

The documents, which are believed to be linked to the 2016 "Crossfire Hurricane" investigation, were reportedly designated for destruction.

This new information raises significant questions about the FBI's handling of the case and its potential cover-up.

The FBI originally told Clevenger in 2017 that it had no records about Seth Rich, claiming it was not involved in the investigation of his death.

However, over the years, through FOIA litigation and court pressure, the FBI has been forced to admit that it possesses thousands of pages of Seth Rich documents, including his work laptop, an image of his personal laptop, and a DVD.

Despite this, the FBI has continued to fight tooth and nail to keep the full truth hidden, even after court orders.

Clevenger has been at the forefront of the case, filing multiple motions to hold the FBI in contempt of court for violating orders to produce Seth Rich records.

As recently as February 2026, the FBI was still defying court orders to turn over the documents, with Clevenger blasting the agency for a "Nine-Year Coverup" in December 2025.

The discovery of the Seth Rich records in the secret SCIF room adds a new layer of complexity to the case, and it remains to be seen how the FBI will respond to the new information.

Clevenger has vowed to continue pushing for transparency and accountability, and it is likely that this development will have significant implications for the case moving forward.
