Tottenham Track De Zerbi's Interest in "Very Good Dribbler

Tottenham Hotspur continues to show interest in Eintracht Frankfurt winger Jean-Mattéo Bahoya as the team seeks to add more speed and creativity to its wide areas. The need for another direct attacker has been pressing, particularly given the long-standing struggle to replace Son Heung-min's influence. Injury problems involving several creative players have further emphasized the need for reliable depth.

Tottenham's transfer window has already seen significant additions to midfield and defense, including Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke. However, the team still prioritizes signing another winger, with Bahoya currently viewed as a secondary option. Discussions between Tottenham and Bahoya's representatives took place before the transfer window opened, indicating the team's exploratory interest in the player.

Bahoya's skills align with what Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi wants from his wide players: acceleration, dribbling, and one-against-one threat. As a young player, he also has the potential to develop into a valuable long-term asset. Nevertheless, Tottenham's interest in more established targets means that Eintracht Frankfurt is unlikely to receive an official proposal unless other negotiations fail.

Eintracht Frankfurt board member for sport, Markus Krösche, has praised Bahoya as a 'very good dribbler'. Tottenham has been searching for a winger for over a year, with other clubs, including Arsenal, also showing interest in Bahoya. The competition for the player's signature could force Tottenham to accelerate its plans, especially if priority moves become unrealistic.

Tottenham should not view Bahoya as a last-minute backup, given his pace and potential fit in De Zerbi's system. However, the team must be prepared to offer patience and allow for adaptation if they decide to pursue the winger. With several clubs linked to Bahoya, Frankfurt would be in a strong position to demand a substantial fee if multiple negotiations begin.
