The filing period for the Senate primary is set to conclude at noon Eastern time next Tuesday, July 28.
If no candidate achieves a majority of the vote, a runoff election will be held among the top two voter-getters on August 25.
A secondary election would be held in late August if no candidate reaches 50% of the vote in the primary.
