Arizona Governor Primary: Trump-Backed Andy Biggs Clinches GOP Nod

The Republican primary for Arizona Governor has come to a close, with Congressman Andy Biggs emerging victorious. His win sets up a highly anticipated contest against incumbent Democrat Katie Hobbs in the November election.

In a decisive victory, Biggs took a massive lead in the first ballot dump, roughly one hour after the polls closed, with nearly 70% of the first batch of results. Decision Desk called the race at 11:03 pm ET, securing Biggs' position as the Republican nominee.

As a result, Biggs will now face Hobbs, who is looking to retain her seat. This contest is expected to be closely watched, particularly given Hobbs' history of controversy surrounding the 2022 election. In that election, Hobbs was accused of stealing the election from Kari Lake, although these allegations are not yet substantiated.
